Why port 80?
Port 80 is the default port used by a browser to access a website. Because of that, they never block this port on a corporate network. By running your radio on port 80, people listening to your radio at their workplace have less chance of being prevented from accessing your stream by a firewall.
Since only one server can run on a port per IP, you will need your own to run your radio on port 80. Contact us so we can set that up for you. There is a monthly fee of $5/month for that service.
The benefit of using a dedicated IP over a proxy is that you can see your listeners IP instead of the proxy IP. So your listener's location will show correctly in your statistics.
