Most radio servers are running on HTTP which is non-encrypted and insecure. If your website is using HTTPS and you embed an HTML5 player utilizing an HTTP audio stream, your listener's browser will notify them of the non-secure element.
When you use our proxy, we take your HTTP stream and convert it to an HTTPS stream. That way, your whole page is marked secure.
We provide a proxy server on each of our data center location, and we default all the traffic locally to where your radio is deployed.
How to enable HTTPS
From your radio's main console:
- Select Listen > Player
- Under Configuration, turn on the "Enable HTTPS" option.
Impact on your statistic
In your statistics, you will see our proxy IP instead of the listener IP. The reason is that our server is connecting to your radio server over HTTP, and the player (your listener) is connecting to our proxy server over HTTPS.
Since we proxy all the audio stream, we need to provide the required bandwidth for each listener that connects to your free HTML5 player.
We do this free of charge. However, please note that we use budget bandwidth for this service. We can end this offer at any time. If you want a buffer free experience, consider hosting your radio with us to enjoy our premium bandwidth.
