This tutorial will walk you through the steps of creating a player for your existing radio that is not hosted on Cloudrad.io.
- You need a SHOUTcast, Icecast or Steamcast radio stream.
- You require to know the stream information, DJ password and administrator password.
- You will need a CloudRadio account, which we invite you to create from the registration page.
1. Logging In
You first need to log into your CloudRadio console with your email and password.
Click the Create button in the top right corner and choose Radio.
Note that the system will select the most popular option by default.
2. General info
Fill in your Radio Name. The Description is for your reference only. For the Genres, you can enter more than one separated by a comma.
The Logo is optional and should be square with a resolution of at least 100 pixels by 100 pixels.
You must set a Public URL which will be used to share your player with your listeners.
Choose I already have a hosted radio.
4. Server type
Select the server type that corresponds to your existing server.
5. Configuration and create
IP: Input the IP or hostname of your server. (No HTTP://, No Mount point)
Port: Radio server port number. (ex: 8000).
DJ and Admin password are required for all features to work correctly.
Mount Point (Stream ID): This is set on your server. The default for SHOUTcast 2 is 1, and for Icecast /live.
Once you are all set, click Create and we will create your external radio.
6. Setup your HTML5 player
On the Radio page, you should see your external radio
Select it and go to Listen > Player in the left menu.
That's the page where you can customize your player. You also have the code to integrate the player in different ways on your website.
If you want the link of your player, click on the demo button to open it in a new page. You can then use that link to share your player.
If your player doesn't play, it's most likely that there is an error in the server information that you provided. You can review that information in Settings > Server.
E.g. Your stream is http://18.104.22.168:8034/live and the server is Icecast
If you don't know your stream information, ask your radio hosting provider.
